THE PRINCIPALS
Richard (Rick) A. Christian, AACI, SRA, BA, R/W-AC
Rick's appraisal career began in 1971 with Revenue Canada upon the enactment of federal capital gains tax legislation. He was active in the valuation of various classes of realty for tax purposes until 1977 when he joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
As a member of the Mortgage Division of CIBC, Rick held a number of managerial positions including Senior Appraiser/Inspector - Ontario Region, and Manager - General Administration, before moving to Central Ontario Appraisals in 1989. He has qualified as an expert witness and has given evidence to the courts in valuation matters.
John
(Jack) J. Ploder, CRA
Jack's real estate career started as a sales representative in 1973 with an established Newmarket realtor. The company, because of its prominence, received numerous appraisal requests. Jack's attention to detail led the brokers to give him the majority of these assignments. In 1983 he decided to accept a position with Central Ontario Appraisals as a residential appraiser.
With his excellent background and his familiarity with both urban and rural communities in our servicing area, Jack obtained the CRA designation in 1989 and was given supervisory responsibilities.
He has qualified as an expert witness and has given appraisal evidence to the courts in family law matters.
He has acted as a consultant to lenders, law firms, insurers, government agencies, relocation firms, accountants and realtors.
